Overview The software industry has many achievements to be proud of. Component-based development brings in even greater achievements, at lower cost. But the full potential of component-based development will only happen if we can expect, with a high degree of confidence, that components behave properly. The Trusted Components Initiative is a cooperative effort to provide the software industry with methods, techniques and tools for building high-quality reusable components, thereby elevating the general level of trust that software users, and society at large, can have in these components.
